Diabetes is a major problem in the 21st century. In fact, it is such a serious problem, that approximately 1.5 million deaths each year occur due to diabetes! Diabetes is not only a healthy but also a social problem; many complications from diabetes, like a diabetic foot, diabetic blood vessel problems, diabetes kidney problems which may lead to kidney failure and so on, can lead to one having the health and strength to work or to be active socially.
As stated earlier, there are many complications of diabetes and, to speak the truth, it is widely known that diabetes itself is not as dangerous as its complications, which can lead to failure of work of almost any organ in the human organism, and are especially dangerous when it comes to kidney or heart failure.
The most dangerous complications are:
- Diabetic ketoacidosis
- Kidney failure
- Blood vessel pathologies
- Hypoglycemia (extremely low blood sugar); this can lead to coma
- Hyperglycemia (extremely high blood sugars; especially diabetes ( type 1); also can lead to coma
- Coma (very low or high sugar as stated above)
- Diabetic retinopathy (problems with eyes)
- And many many more…
For those who may not know: diabetes is a pancreatic disease, where the pancreas cannot produce as much insulin as it needs to utilize glucose (due to the destruction of pancreas cells that produce insulin), or due to the production of insulin that cannot cooperate with other cells of the organism in order for the glucose to be transported into organs and utilized. They are named
A) Diabetes type 1;
B) Diabetes type 2 respectively.
How can Kratom help?
As stated above, diabetes occurs due to the partial absence, or bad insulin. That is why it is mostly treated with insulin (if not taking diet into account). Scientists have found that Kratom’s alkaloids can partially mimic the mechanism of insulin and help people with diabetes.
The inhibitory activities of Kratom leaves have been studied in vitro and showed great results: Then- butanol and ethyl acetate extract (some of the leaves components) showed a high inhibitory activity of ɑ-glycosidase. That means that the leaf’s alkaloids and active components can enhance glucose transport activity and glucose utilization by muscles and other organs. There have been conducted experiments in vitro that showed that increased glucose transport activity of M.speciosa is associated with increases in activities of the key enzymes dependent to then insulin-stimulated glucose transport for its acute action, and increases in the GLUT1 content for its long-term effect. That means it can help with managing diabetes both type 1 and 2.
What are the best types and doses?
Technically any type can help you manage diabetes, as the components that help you are in every strain; whether it’s red, white or green vein. Nevertheless, experiments have not been made to tell what the best strain is, so despite the fact you can take any strain it’s better to use the most potent ones, like:
You may use average doses: 5-15gr will do the work. Be careful with very high doses and only use as much as you can handle.
Strength and conditions
As stated above the most potent and strong strains may help you with the management of diabetes. You can use it during any diabetes condition, whether its diabetes type 1 or 2 in its early or late stages.
But don’t forget about insulin, diet and your doctor’s advice and prescriptions, because Kratom is NOT your primary medicine, it’s just a means to help you fight diabetes along with insulin and diet. It won’t help you without your primary treatment!
